RIMU
SCHOOL JUBILEE COMMITTEE At a meeting of the Rimu School Diamond Jubilee Committee the chairman, Mr J. Shand, presided. The chairman expressed pleasure at so many of the last year’s committee being present after the postponement of the jubilee, which was to be held last January. He was sure that after Jhe experiences of last year’s meetings, they would not find it such a heavy task to make the jubilee a success. The secretary was instructed to make inquiries about catering for all functions, and also that circular letters should be sent later to all former pupils and wellwishers who had registered. Because of the school not re-opening early in the year, the children were un - able to spend any time in the flojver garden, and the head teacher appealed to the jubilee committee to help make the gardens a success as in the past year. The women on the committee consented to give all the assistance possible. The plants etc., were to be bought out of the money won by the school in the vegetable garden competitions last year.
