SEARCH FOR MISSING SOVIET FLYERS

LINCOLN ELLSWORTH TO SCAN POLAR AREA LOS ANGELES, September 15. Mr Lincoln Ellsworth, the polar explorer, announced that he was obtaining a plane for a wide search of the Polar area for the Russian flyers, in the conviction that they are still alive. Sir Hubert Wilkins has sent a message to the United States to obtain a plane better suited for winter operation in the Arctic, after which he will continue the search. The missing flyers, Sigismund Levanesky and his crew of five, have been lost for five weeks.
