BRITAIN’S TRADE WITH THE EMPIRE
(Received September 16, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, September 15. United Kingdom exports to British countries in the first eight months of this year were valued at £162,300,000 out of a total of domestic exports of £341,400,000, compared with £138,700,000 out of £283,200,000 in the corresponding period of 1936. The output of pig iron (712,600 tons) and the production of crude steel (987,700 tons) in August is compared with 635,800 tons and 872,700 tons respectively in the same month last year.
