FAREWELL A farewell social was tendered Mr and Mrs J. Donaldson and family in Lawson’s Hall recently. The evening was spent in cards and dancing. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mesdames S. Walker and F. Kilkelly, Miss W. Hannan and Mr R. Eunson. Mr H. Stewart was M.C. Solos were given by Mrs W. R. Langmuir and Mr H. Bates. After supper Mr Dowling, on behalf of those present, asked Mr Donaldson to accept a wallet of notes as a token of the high esteem in which he was held. He referred to Mr Donaldson’s long association with the district. Mr G. E. Charlton endorsed Mr Dowling’s remarks. Mr Mac Lean (Ohai) also spoke. Mrs F. Harrison, on behalf of the women of the district, presented Mrs Donaldson with a handbag. Mr and Mrs Donaldson suitably replied.
