MOKORETA

FAREWELL The residents of the Mokoreta district gathered in the Mokoreta-Redan public hall recently to make a farewell presentation to Mr and Mrs H. E. Kiddey, who, after a long residence in Mokoreta, have removed to Christchurch. The evening was spent in dancing, the music being supplied by Mr W. Brown (Glenham). Messrs J. Mcßride and W. Johnston were M.C’s. Several items were given. The chairman, Mr H. Mcßride, expressed the regret the residents felt at losing the Kiddey family from the district. Mr Kiddey had given good service far several years as a member of the school committee, and Mrs Kiddey had always been ready to help in cases of sickness. He presented Mr and Mrs H. E. Kiddey with a well-filled wallet, and Miss Elsie Kiddey and Master Eric Kiddey with an eversharp pencil each. Supporting remarks were made by Messrs A. Greenlees, T. Skinner, W. Hunter, C. Johnston, F. Mcßae, M. A. Mcßae and W. Scott (Invercargill). Mr Kiddey replied.
