TODAY’S RECIPE

CHEESE STRAWS 4oz flaky pastry. I teaspoon cayenne pepper. 3oz tasty grated cheese. Roll out flaky pastry into rectangle; sprinkle lavishly with cheese. Fold sides to middle, ends to middle, and top to bottom. Press edges with rolling pin in order to prevent enclosed air from escaping. Give one half turn. Roll out using light, quick strokes. Sprinkle with cheese and cayenne and repeat folding process. Continue until all the cheese is used up. Roll out until from one-quarter to three-eighths inch thick. Cut in half-inch strips, making each strip four inches long. Make rings by using two cutters of different diameters. Bake at 450 to 500 deg. F. till cooked. Takes approximately five to ten minutes. SARAH.
