BIBLE CLASS WEEK During the period from September 5 to 13 the Baptist Bible classes throughout New Zealand held their annual Bible class week. The local classes held a very successful week. On the sth and the 12th the members took part and assisted in the services at North Invercargill, Esk street, Georgetown, East road and West Plains. On the 7th a combined rally was held at Esk street, there being a good attendance, The speaker was Mr Ardrey, who gave an address on the “Word of God,” which was the chief theme for the week. The next day the members of the classes conducted the prayer and fellowship meetings in the churches.

On the 9th the annual oratorical contest was held in the Esk street church, when a large and appreciative audience listened to sermonettes, Gospel solos, and impromptu speeches (humorous). The senior sermonette was won by Mr J. Wilson (Esk street), the men’s Gospel solo by Mr J. Wilson, the women’s Gospel solo by Miss R. Brown (Georgetown), the impromptu speech, senior, by Mr C. W. Lambert (North Invercargill) and the impromptu speech, junior, by Mr Riley (Georgetown).
