MAGISTRATE’S COURT
WEDNESDAY (Before Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M.) Frederick Brown, for not having a motor driver’s licence, was fined 10/-. John Girdwood Hastie was charged with failing to give way to traffic approaching on the right and with failing to report an accident. He was fined £1 and costs 17/- on the first charge and fined 10/- and costs 10/- on the second. For cycling at night without a light, James St. Clair Oughton was fined 5/~ and costs. For not possessing a warrant of fitness William Langford was fined 10/and costs 10/-.
Foi- allowing cattle to wander James Gill, Robert Bolton, William Rabbit, John Aitchison, Michael Murphy, Frederick Thomson Wright, Duncan McKerchar, Simina Crighton, William Chisholm, Henry Carron, Walter Andrew Crighton, Henry David Murdoch, Edward Bacon and William Campbell were each fined 5/- and costs, while Alexander Kain for a similar offence was convicted and ordered to pay costs 12/-.
