During the winter months the Carnival Committee of the Riverton Centenary Celebrations Ltd., ran numerous raffles and at the grand finale the following prize-winners were announced: —Ice cake, Mrs Shore; lamp shade, Miss Maida Cussen; gold silk cushion, T. Hannah; pyjamas, D. Matheson; box of chocolates, Miss J. Oag; electric reading lamp, J. McMillan; box of chocolates, Nurse Latta; child’s knitted set, Mrs R. Holland (Invercargill); duchesse set, Miss J. Borland; dressed doll, Miss Mary Bailey; green satin cushion, D. Stephens (Otautau); tapestry footstool, Miss Allan; tapestry cushion, Mrs J. Jones; supper cloth (No. 1), T. Hannah; supper cloth (No. 2) R. Wakeland; dinner waggon covers (No. 1), Mrs A. Dooley; dinner waggon covers (No. 2), Miss I. Harrington; silk cushion, Miss N. Robertson; smoking outfit. W. Thompson.
