STEIN BEATS SPELLMAN (United Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, June 17. In a fast and entertaining bout before a capacity house Sammy Stein, the Jewish champion, beat John Spelhnan with a fall obtained in the sixth round with a body press, following a flying tackle which came unexpectedly and which spreadeagled Spellman, who had head-locked and jolted Stein until it appeared that the time was ripe for Spellman to take a fall.
