DISEASE ON THE WANE
INFANTILE PARALYSIS (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 16. “For the whole of New Zealand the position is satisfactory as the population is getting immune,” said the Dir-ector-General of Health (Dr M. H. Watt) when interviewed in Auckland today in reference to infantile paralysis. He said it was likely that cases would continue for some time, probably for a year, but the disease was definitely on the wane and there was no reason to fear a recurrence next summer. CASE IN ASHBURTON (United Press Association) ASHBURTON, June 16. A boy, aged 41 years, a pupil of the Convent kindergarten school, was admitted to hospital as a positive case of paralysis.
