The by-election in the Drake division of Plymouth, caused by the death of Captain F. E. Guest, resulted: Lieutenant-Colonel the Hon. H. Guest (National Conservative) 15,778 G. T. Garratt (Labour) 11,044
The successful candidate is the late member’s brother.
The result of the polling in the Drake division at the general election In 1935 was: Captain F. E. Guest (Conservative) 21,446 J. J. H. Moses (Labour) 15,365
