PARKING SYSTEMS
INSPECTOR FAVOURS PARALLEL METHOD “Does the inspector (Mr Stopford) think a system of parallel parking in this city would be better than the head-on or nose-in system we have today?” was a question asked by Cr W. M. C. Denham during the discussion on the parking proposals for Invercargill at the meeting of the City Council last, evening. “From an inspector’s viewpoint,” replied Mr Stopford, “I certainly think the system of parallel parking for a limited period, say 20 minutes, would be better than the system in use today. It would be better for the publie and better for business. It may take some time to get into working order, but the people would soon get used to it.
