BUILDING RETURNS FOR MAY
NEARLY £12,000 WORTH OF WORK Permits for building work in Invercargill of a value of £11,988 were issued by the city engineer’s department during the month of May. The erection of 11 new dwellings, valued at £9426, was begun. There were 21 permits issued for additions to dwelings and business premises, involving the expenditure of £1556 10/-, and garages and outhouses, and plumbing and demolitions accounted for £lOO5 10/-. In all, 56 permits were issued.
