Judgment was given for the plaintiff for £22 15/- and costs £6 8/- in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday _ in the case in which Andrew Cunningham, of Nightcaps, engine driver (Mr J. C. Pram, instructed by Mr G. _H. Hodges, Otautau), proceeded against Charles Trow, of Riverton (Mr G. J. Reed) on a claim for £3O. Plaintiff claimed possession of a four horsepower marine engine valued at £3O alleged to have been detained by the defendant. Alternatively the plaintiff claimed £3O in case possession could not be had and £5 damages for detention. Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., presided.
