PRISONER ESCAPES FROM DOCK
SENSATION IN IRISH COURT (Received April 23, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 22. Charles McMorrow, after his conviction for smuggling and the imposition of a fine of £lOO or six months’ imprisonment at Dowra in the County of Leitrim, leapt from the dock and sprinted. He outdistanced his pursuers and plunged into the river Shannon. He swam to the other side and headed for the Cuilcagh mountains on the boundary of the Free State and Ulster.
