PROPERTIES PURCHASED IN QUEEN STREET (United Press Association) AUCKLAND. April 22. The Queen street properties occupied by Samuel Vaile and Sons, land auctioneers and agents, and also E. Leroy, tent manufacturer, with a total frontage of 66 feet and a depth of about 130 feet backing on to Mills Lane have been purchased by the Bank of New South Wales for demolition and the erection of an eight or nine story building with a ground floor, designed as one of the rnogt modern banking chambers in the Dominion. The price is not disclosed but it is understood to be about £l5OO a foot, involving close on £lOO,OOO.
