BANK OFFICIALS AT PLAY SUCCESSFUL TOURNAMENT Ledgers, pass-books and currency, too, were forgotten yesterday bank officers from all parts of Southland assembled at the Invercargill Golt Club’s links at Otatara for their annual golf tournament, which was a great success. The weather was fine, but cold, and the number of players was double that of last year, , when the tournament was first held. A medal handicap was played in the morning and a four-ball bogey match in the afternoon, and the scores revealed that some competent golfers are employed in the banks in Southland. The prizes were presented by Mr A. H. J. Wyatt, who, on behalf of the competitors, thanked the Invercargill Golf Club for placing its links at their disposal and the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild for its donation to the prize fund. The committee responsible for organizing the tournament, Messrs G. F. Tobin, A. K. Mac Ewan and G. J. Thompson, had everything working smoothly. Results are as follows:—
