Gore CORONATION DAY
PROGRAMME DISCUSSED At a special meeting of the Finance Committee of the Gore Borough Council last evening the programme for Coronation Day was discussed. It was decided to hold a service in one of the theatres at 11 a.m. to be conducted by the Gore Ministers’ Association. The Gore Municipal Brass Band and the Gore Pipe Band would be asked to parade to the theatre and to take part in the service which would be of an hour’s duration. Various sporting fixtures would be held in the afternoon. In the evening the town would be illuminated and th* two bands would also play numbers on tire street* The business people would be asked to decorate and illuminate (if possible) their shops. The council would suppb greenery for the shop fronts. The town would be illuminated and decorated for a week from May 12 to May 19.
