PRINCELY COOK

Prince Emanuel of Lichenstein has distinguished himself by being an excellent cook, his sausages being better done than those of any other helper at a Boy Scout camp. He joined a camp of 60 boys at Gilwell Park, Clingford, Essex, and took his turn at the cookhouse manfully. “The best we have had yet,” was the general verdict about the sausages, and the Prince was quite ready to be congratulated on his prowess with the fryingpan. He is training for his “wood badge,” and is learning a lot about flowers, trees and tracking, and above all, self-dependence. He has no privileges, calls his Scoutmaster “Sir,” sleeps out, makes his own bed, cuts wood, and washes dishes. He shares a tent with an Englishman, a Swede, and an American, and apart from his good cooking is well liked for his other good qualities.
