STEAMER EXPRESS DELAYED

MAN LANDED IN SHIP’S BOAT

(United Press Association)

WELLINGTON, April 19. After the Rangatira began to back out from the wharf tonight it was discovered that a man farewelling a friend aboard had not left the ship. Captain Morgan, when informed, stopped the Rangatira and signalled for the launch to take off the unwilling passenger, but a few moments later he countermanded this and lowered the ship’s boat, which landed the man at Fryatt Quay. The Rangatira got under way again about half an hour after first leaving the wharf.
