THE AMATEUR SECTION ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of the Southland Harrier and Amateur Athletic Association was held last evening. Mr W. E. Mclndoe presided over a full attendance of members. In formally moving the adoption of the annual report (already published) the chairman said that the reorganization of the committee had been a success. The association was now on a sound footing, had a good constitution and was successful in linking up the various clubs. It had been a heavy year and there had been plenty of competition for performers. The association had received more recognition from the Otago Centre than formerly, and local officials had been given posts at big meetings. The secretary was to be congratulated on the manner in which the report had been drawn up. The financial position, as revealed by the balance-sheet, was quite satisfactory. The report was adopted. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: President, Mr W. E. Mclndoe (re-elected); secretary, Mr E. Dorman (re-elected); treasurer, Mr G. McAnergney (re-elected); hon. auditor, Mr F. N. Anderson; trustees for the Sports Trust grant, the presidents of the Invercargill and St. Paul’s clubs; superintendents, Mr W. Torrance (track) and Mr W. E. Mclndoe (field); sports secretary, Mr D. Dorman (reelected); track judges, Messrs R. T. Meredith, G. Kidd, A. H. Courtis and G. Mcßurney; field judges, Messrs W. 0. Ward, D. Leckie, A. Henderson, T. B. Dorman and A. P. Petrie; timekeepers, Messrs A. D. Burn, A. Hobbs and J. Robie; handicappers, Messrs E. Moyle (track) and D. J. Dorman (field); track stewards, Messrs J. Louden, T. Donaldson, E. Moyle, A. Couling and W. Curwen; marksman, Mr H. Giller; starter, Mr C. Pierson; announcer, Mr G. McAnergney (re-elected); call steward, Mr J. McCorkindale; record steward, Mr W.
