ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
BODY FOUND ON ROADSIDE. (United Press Association.) Whakatane, October 20. The body of Augustus Frederick Lipston Moore, aged 56, a married employee of Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., was found on the roadside at Poroporo last night with a bicycle nearby. The body was taken to the morgue and an examination showed only minor external injuries. A postmortem examination to-day revealed extensive internal injuries, which caused instantaneous death and point to the belief that he was hit by a passing vehicle. An inquest was opened this morning, and, after evidence of identification, was adjourned sine die. GIRL DIES ’ROM INJURIES. (United Press Association.) Pahiatua, October 20. Admitted to the Pahiatua Hospital last evening, Grace Lillian Burns, a single girl, whose parents are believed to reside at Feilding, died early this morning. She was hanging tea towels out to dry in the upper portion of a twostorey building at the rear of the Eketahuna Hotel, and it is surmised that she missed her footing and fell to the ground below.
