MOVE TO HASTEN MIGRATION

MERGER OF INTERESTED BODIES (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, October 19. The Overseas Trade League has been merged with the Empire Migration Settlement Group under the title of the Empire Migration Settlement Movement with a view to stimulating migration, coupled with properly organized and adequately financed settlement within the Empire. Mr H. D. Donaldson, joint organizing director of the movement, told the Australian Associated Press that thousands of applications from prospective migrants had been received before the amalgamation. Those interested in migration were fed up with the lack of Government results and felt that nothing would be done till there was a co-operative effort of every voluntary body in Britain to speed up the Government’s action.

Official circles do not oppose the new body, and it is known that many leading citizens are behind the move.
