Italian Attack On

Village REPRISAL FOR LOSS OF PLANES START OF CAMPAIGN OF “SUBJUGATION” (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) Addis Ababa, Oct. 19. As a reprisal for the shooting down of three Italian military planes in July, when all the occupants were killed, 33 planes, carrying 500 soldiers, left Addis Ababa to-day, bombed the village of Lekemtl and then landed. A fierce battle followed, the result of which is not yet known. The rainy season is over, and the Italians are starting a campaign ,to complete their subjugation of the inhabitants. They are at present repairing the Addis’Ababa-Jibuti railway, which the Abyssinians recently cut in several places. NO WAR INFORMATION TO BE GIVEN INCIDENT REGARDED AS “POLICE ACTION.” (United. The war is considered over, and incidents from now on will be classified as “police action.”
