CHARGE OF NOT RESTORING SALARIES. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, October 20. An allegation that the Invercargill City Council has not restored salaries to the 1931 level was made by Mr W. M. C. Denham (Lab., Invercargill) in addressing an urgent, question to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Denham asked if the Government was taking steps to make its wages restoration policy effective in the case of municipal corporations. The Prime Minister replied that the Government was taking the necessary steps to ensure that all local authority employees should receive the benefits of the legislation restoring salaries and wages to the 1931 level.
