'the points were scored by T. Bates and D. McEwan. G. Haldane again played a brilliant game, giving much assistance to his team. He has now recovered from the poisoning to his hand from which he was suffering on the last occasion. D. Brown and J. Dickson also showed great promise. The Progress Valley team showed a considerable improvement on its play of the previous occasion and there is no doubt that with some coaching it. would achieve considerable distinction in playing against the best teams of Southland. The visitors were entertained, at a dance in the Chaslands hall in the evening. Mr D. Brown was master of ceremonies.
