CANVASSER SENT TO PRISON
MONEY OBTAINED BY FALSE PRETENCES. (United Press Association.) Wellington, September 18. John Anthony Crawford, aged 47, a canvasser, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with obtaining money by false pretences. He had 48 previous convictions, and was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment on one charge and a month’s imprisonment on each of the other three charges, the terms to be cumulative.
