British-Brazilian Agreement (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, August 13. An agreement between the British and Brazilian Governments about most-favoured-nation treatment was officially announced. Pending the conclusion of a treaty of commerce and navigation. his Majesty’s Government and the Brazilian Government have agreed, in an exchange of Notes dated August 10, to accord to goods from the two countries rfiost-favoured-nation treatment on a basis of reciprocity. The t agreement is subject to three months notice of denunciation by either Government. The agreement has been concluded to take the place of the commercial agreement of September 11, 1931, which was denounced by the Brazilian Government with effect from July 31. By a further exchange of Notes on August 10, the existing Newfoundland-Brazil-ian trade agreement, which had been terminated by the Brazilian Government, has been prolonged, subject to 30 days’ notice of denunciation.
