N.Z. BANK NOTES FORGED
DETECTION BY SYDNEY EXPERTS DENOMINATION CHANGED TO £lO (United Press Assn-—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 8.10 p.m.) Sydney, July 21. Police headquarters have 6btained possession of several forged New Zealand Reserve Bank notes, the denominations of which have been changed from 10/- and £1 to £lO by the use of acids and manipulation of the figures.
Bank experts had the greatest difficulty in detecting the forgeries, but the fact that the New Zealand Reserve Bank does not issue £lO notes left no doubt that somebody had been tampering with the notes, showing an excellent profit. The police have warned tradesmen in all States.
