CHILD DROWNED AT GORE
PROBABLY FELL INTO RIVER A drowning fatality occurred at Gore yesterday, a child aged 21 years apparently falling into the Mataura river. The child was Murray Gordon, son of Mr and Mrs Albert Victor Gordon, ot 24 Halton street. The little boy was missing from his home in the early afternoon and when a search was made he was found in the river about opposite Halton street by Mr George Kerr. The indications were that he had not been in the water very long, but artificial respiration by Dr. R. G. Stokes was unavailing. An inquest will be held this morning.
