PLUNKET SOCIETY

MOSSBURN BRANCH. The seventh annual meeting of the Mossbum sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in the hall, there being present—Mesdames W. Young, J. Patterson, C. Dore, A. Holden, D. Rowe, J. Reid and P. Richmond. The nQrse’s report for the year was read and on the whole the health of the mothers and babies in the district had been good. The attendances at the rooms were as follows—Adults 136, babies 109, children 55, making a total of 300. The nurse visited the district 26 times. During the year Nurse Sim left the district and was replaced by Nurse White.

The annual balance-sheet was presented and showed the satisfactory sum of £96 in the bank, £6O of which belongs to the building fund. Mrs Young, president, before vacating the chair thanked the committee (especially the secretary) for its loyalty during a strenuous period. The election of officers then took place, Mrs Young being re-elected as president, Mrs Richmond secretary and Mrs J. Reid to act as joint secretary.
