THREE AIR FORCE ACCIDENTS
EMPIRE DAY DISPLAY MARRED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 6.30 p.m.) London, May 23. The Empire Day display of the Royal Air Force, in which 45 aerodromes and many flying schools were open to public inspection and numerous bombing aerobatics and parachute exhibitions were held, was marred by three accidents. A fighter participating in a low flying attack at Dover struck an electric cable and caught fire, two flying officers being incinerated. Dover’s electric current was cut off. A fighter in an aerobatic display at Henley was unable to get out of a spin and crashed; the pilot was severely injured. A civilian pilot crashed and was admitted to hospital at Shoreham.
