POINTS FINALIZED SPECIAL AWARDS The secretary (Mr A. L. Adamson) yesterday announced the special awards for the Southland A. and P. Association’s Summer Show last week, the points in the various sections having been compiled. The awards are:— Horses. Reginald MacKinnon Medal, for exhibitor bringing forward his entries in the best show condition: J. Young (Allanton). .George Hamilton trophy, for most points in breeding section: Andrew Grant (Fairlie). Trophy for most points, first in the count for most points for Clydesdale horses: Andrew Grant. Trophy for most points, second in the count for most points for Clydesdale horses: Fleming Bros. (Crookston). Southland News Company’s trophy, for most points in Clydesdale and Working Draught sections: Andrew Grant. Mossbank Coal Company’s trophy, for best colt or filly: Andrew Grant. A. Horne’s trophy, for maiden hunter: H. Blackmore (Morton Mains). Cattle. Canterbury Perpetual Challenge Cup (presented by Canterbury visitors in March, 1928) for most points in dairy cattle: D. Murphy and Sons (Kennington). Previous winners: 1929, 1930 and 1931, A. M. Weir; 1932, G. S. Young; 1933, D. Murphy and Sons; 1934, G. S. Young. Southland Branch of the N.Z. Milking Shornhorn Association trophy for sire and two of his progeny: D. Murphy and Sons. Southland Branch of the N.Z. Milking Shorthorn Association Cup for most points in Milking Shorthorn section over a period of five years: D. Murphy and Sons. Southland Football Association’s trophy for Cow in Milk or Dry: John Bateman (Bay Road). Southland Red Pool Breeders’ Club special prize: G. S. Young (West Plains). ■ Mr James Milne’s trophy for Friesian cow, in milk or dry: R. H. Dickie (Tuturau). Southland Times trophy for best group of three registered Friesian heifers: R. H. Dickie. The Farmers’ Dairy Federation (Invercargill) prize for two-year-old heifer: R. H. Dickie. Ayrshire Breeders’ Association prize for Ayrshire bull: P. Walker, Palmerston. Southland Times Company Ltd. prize for best group of three registered Jersey heifers: D. M. A. Cameron (Edendale). Sir Joseph Ward trophy, for two best yearling Jersey heifers: Rolf Clark (Seaward Downs). A. and P. Association’s trophy for best two-year-old fat bullock: J. Morrison and Sons (Timaru). Sheep. New Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association medal for Border Leicester Ram: W. Kennedy (Otautau). New Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association medal for Border Leicester ewe: W. Kennedy (Otautau). New Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association Silver Shield for Romney ram and ewe: 'Joseph Mosley and Son (Clydevale). Trustees of the late T. L. Barnhill, prize for most points in Romney Marsh Hoggets (Classes 36, 37 and 38). —Joseph Mosley and Sons (Clydevale).
