Miss N. Norman, Forest Hill, was a visitor to Christchurch last week. Mesdames R. McDowall and H. Liddell, Arthur street, have returned from a holiday spent in Queenstown. Miss B, Miller, Invercargill, has been the guest of Miss Norma King, “Tynree,” Benmore. Mrs J. A. Stewart, Centre Bush, was the guest of Mrs W. G. Wilson, Gore, for a few days last week. Mrs J. Gaut, Dunedin, is the guest of her sister, Mrs A. Hagerty, Park street.

Mr and Mrs H. A. Pierce, McKenzie street, Mr and Mrs J. A. Stewart, Centre Bush, and Mrs J. Mcllwrick, Arthur street, leave this week for Christchurch to attend the New Zealand Trotting Cup meeting. Miss Betty Porter, Wyndham, spent Labour Day week-end as the guest of Mrs P. A. de la Perrelle, Park street; Mr J. Hargest, M.P., and Mrs Hargest, were the guests of Mr and Mrs P. A. de la Perrelle, Park street, during the week. Those who journeyed from Winton to attend the Gore races last week included Mr and Mrs J. F. Hamilton, Mr and Mrs H. A. Pierce, Mr and Mrs W. Swale, Mr and Mrs W. Hamilton, Mr and Mrs J. A. Clark, Mr and Mrs G. Horner; Mesdames W. G. Clark, jun., W. H. J. Shaw, J. Mcllwrick and J. A. Stewart; Misses B. Hamilton, N. Stewart, G. Horner and Swale (3). Miss Moira McGrath, Invercargill, was the guest of Miss B. Swale, Boggy Burn, for Labour Day week-end.

Miss N. Dowling, Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs W. L. Cunningham, “Castle Downs,” has returned home.

Miss Tui Ward and Miss Myrtle Dyer, of the Winton Junior Homemakers’ Club, left yesterday to attend a conference of other New Zealand branches of the movement in Dunedin.

Mrs Robertson, Invercargill, has been the guest of her sister, Mrs W. G. Clark.

Miss F. Hotton, Naseby, is at present spending a holiday with Mrs E. Davis. Miss M. Ledingham was a recent visitor to Gore.

Miss Daniels, Dunedin, is the guest of Mrs J. Burke, Browns. Mr and Mrs L. Niven, Invercargill, were visitors to Winton last week as the guests of Mrs M. Svensson, Great North Road.

Mrs A. Hagerty, Park street, has returned from a holiday spent in Dunedin.

Mr and Mrs E. Watkins, Christchurch, were the guests of Mrs J. G. King, “The Bend,” for a few days last week.

Miss A. Holland, Invercargill, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr and Mrs Holland, Great North Road. Mrs A. Cole and her daughter, Patricia, of Invercargill, were the guests of Mrs I. N. Watson, East Winton, for a few days last week.

Mi- and Mrs W. J. Cowie, Centre Bush, are at present on a motor tour of the North Island.
