TREAT FOR WINTON
MR SUTHERLAND’S GIFTED PUPILS. On Thursday evening the people of Winton will be afforded the opportunity of attending a spectacular demonstration by the pupils of the Southland School of Dancing—an entertainment which drew a capacity house in Invercargill and which was acclaimed as one of the most delightful dancing recitals ever seen in Southland. In addition to the excellent and varied items by the pupils, there will be amazing contortion and acrobatic acts by Olive Mcßae and Marion Symon, glockenspiel and marimbaphone items by that most popular artist, Mr W. J. Oliver, humorous numbers by Mr G. Donald, Scottish comedian, and songs by Miss G. Cameron (soprano) and Mr A. Jones, of Mataura (baritone), two singers of outstanding merit. Altogether the demonstration should be a rare "treat for those who enjoy traditional dancing interspersed with musical items of exceptional charm.
