Vital Statistics. The vital statistics for Gore for October, with last year’s figures for the same month being given in parentheses, are as follows:—Births 13 (9), deaths 15 (7), marriages 3 (9). o—O—o Building Permits. Building permits issued at Gore during October totalled £11,520. This is the highest amount for a single month for six years. The total for. the seven months of the present year is £30,051, compared with £11,814 for the same period last year. o—O—o Mr McDougall’s Campaign. Continuing his election campaign, Mr D. McDougall, M.P., the Independent candidate for the Mataura seat, addressed two meetings on Thursday night. At Croydon Bush Mr J. McNickel presided over 21 electors. At the conclusion a vote of thanks and confidence was carried, Mr W. A. Dickie presided. At the conclusion numerous questions were answered by the candidate, who was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of Mr J. Collie, seconded by Mr W. Nicholl.
