EMPIRE’S SHARE INCREASES
(British Official Wireless.) Rugby, August 16. An analysis of overseas trade for the first half of 1935 shows that the growth of the Empire’s share of the total trade imports from countries of the British Commonwealth represented 40 percent of the total imports compared with 38.8 per cent for the same period in 1934, while the exports to British countries amounted to 46.5 per cent of the total, against 45.1 per cent. Further, 82 per cent of the re-exports went to foreign countries, compared with 81.2 per cent during the first half of 1934.
