TRADES UNIONS
INCREASED MEMBERSHIP.
BRITISH FASCISM DECLINING.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, August 17.
The annual report of the Trade Union Congress shows that the membership has increased by 100,000 over the last year. This is the first increase in five years. The report criticizes the Government’s obstructionist attitude to a 40-hour week, and deplores Moscow’s attempts to encourage workers to join revolutionary unions. It considers that Fascism is declining in Britain, and declares that there are even signs that it is being undermined in Fascist countries.
