Professor Frederick Soddy, Lee’s Professor of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry at Oxford, interviewed by the News-Chronicle, declared that the Government’s suggestions for aerial defence were childish. He expressed amazement at the exclusion of scientists from the key positions.
