DEATH FROM HEAD INJURIES. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, August 13. Falling from a ladder while engaged in renovation work on a house, R. M. Ford, of Riccarton, suffered injuries to the head from which he died later in hospital. BREWERY EMPLOYEE’S DEATH. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, August 13. Injuries to the head which proved fatal shortly afterwards were received by Frank Lock, aged 53, married, as the result of falling about 10ft from scaffolding on which he was working in the cellar of the Lion Brewery at Newmarket this afternoon. Lock, who lived at Mt Eden, suffered a fracture of the base of the skull. An employee of New Zealand Breweries, Limited, Lock was engaged in white-washing the ceiling of the cellar when the accident occurred. FOUND HANGING. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, August 13. David Ferguson Nelson, a retired railway inspector of permanent ways, was found hanging in a shed at his home this morning. He had been suffering from a nervous breakdown. He accompanied Mr Eugene Casey, then Chief Engineer to Napier, at the time of the earthquake, and w as largely responsible for the restoration of the rail services, hut the strain involved seriously impaired his health.
