NEW PROPOSAL
- CONDITIONS OF RAILWAY SERVANTS. REFERRED TO MR FORBES. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, August 13. A proposal that the Government should set up a special tribunal to determine the wages, hours and conditions of railway servants with a possible expansion of the system to cover the whole of the Public Servants was made to the acting-Prime-Minister, Sir Alfred Ransom, to-day by a private deputation representing the Amalgamated Society of Railways Servants. Later it was stated that Sir Alfred Ransom had informed the deputation that the matter would be referred to the Minister of Railways, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, on his return and then be considered by Cabinet.
