ARTIFICIAL RESPIRATION.
STRUGGLE TO SAVE LIFE.
(United Press Assn,— Telegraph Copyright.) Melbourne, August 12.
After thirteen days’ treatment in an artificial respirator, Ruby Currie is expected to be able to leave the machine within the next day or two. The struggle to save the child’s life has been keenly followed by the medical profession and the general public for nearly a fortnight. The doctors state that her case is the only one on record where such a disease has been successfully cured by this method. She is suffering from diphtheria and paralysis of the diaphragm.
