CREDIT WITHOUT ASSETS.
To the Editor. Sir,—ln the latter part of my letter upon the above subject there appears a paragraph as follows: Consequently, the notes issued by the Reserve Bank did not in my opinion have any reserve upon the nation’s security, but was based upon the nation’s security. This is evidently a mistake caused perhaps by my bad writing, or it may be a typographical error, and does not convey any meaning. The passage should read—Consequently, the notes issued by the Reserve Bank did not (in my opinion) have any Reserve Bank assets as security, but ;>were based on the nation’s security.
