Mr and Mrs Neil Young, Greenfield, were the guests of Miss Malcolm, Bayswater, for the Kennedy-Faulks wedding. Mr and Mrs Poole and family were the guests of Mr and Mrs T. White, Drummond, during the week. Miss Finnegan has been visiting friends in Christchurch. Miss V. Bird was home for the week-end. Mr and Mrs F. Hamlin were visiting Mr and Mrs R. S. Carson, Wyndham, for a few days. Mr and Mrs J. Brownndge, Fairfax, left during the week to spend a holiday with friends on the West Coast. Mr W. Liddell, Invercargill, was home for the week-end. The Otautau Croquet Club held a very enjoyable “five hundred” evening in the supper room last week, when there was an attendance of 32 players. The winners were Mrs J. G. Manson and Mr V. Hope,' after a play-off with Miss Swan and Mr H. Gazzard. Opportunity was also taken to present the prizes won during the last croquet season. Miss Donnan (president) thanked those present for their patronage, and congratulated Miss D.. O’Brien on her well-deserved win in the championship, while the runner-up, Miss Hay, had also played well. The prize for the B grade lady winning the most games went to' Mrs Silverwood. Miss Donnan also mentioned that competitions had been run during the season, the prizes for which had been donated by friends. These were presented ,as follows: Open singles, Miss D. O’Brien; handicap doubles, Mesdames Sinclair and Silverwood. The president stated that the club this season purposed laying down a new lawn, and said they would be pleased to see new members joining up. She thanked the donors of the prizes and all who had. supported her during her term of office. The following, were present: Mr and Mrs P. Mackenzie, Mr and Mrs A. C. White, Mr and Mrs G.
