ANOTHER CONTEST
TWO MEN AND A WHEELBARROW. JOURNEY OF 600 MILES. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 6.30 p.m.) Sydney, July 20. Cheered by 2000 people, William Darwin, a member of the Brighton Council and drum-major of the Brighton Municipal Band, set off this afternoon in an attempt to push a fellow bandsman, William Amiguet, from Brighton to Sydney in a wheelbarrow in ten weeks, the distance being 600 miles. There is a wager of £lOO attached to the event. The barrow is streamlined and fitted with a windscreen.
