BIG REHOUSING SCHEME
LEEDS CTTY COUNCIL. (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, July 20. The Leeds City Council has in hand a vast scheme for rehousing city dwellers and work will shortly begin on the construction of a big block of 940 flats to be completed in 20 months. This represents only a small part of the whole scheme, which at a cost of £14,500,000 aims at rehousing 30,000 families within 6£ years. In connection with the present undertaking the system of construction adopted in Paris is being introduced. Concrete blocks made on the site will be used tliroughout.
