MEETING OF BOARD (From Our Correspondent.) Tlie monthly meeting of the Wallace Hospital Board held in the board room, Riverton, on Thursday, was presided over by Mr F. J. Linscott. Correspondence. Mrs Densley, lessee of the Maternity Home, Tuatapere, wrote drawing attention to the need of minor repairs being carried out. The secretary was instructed to see that repairs asked for were carried out. A letter was received from the Southland Presbytery extending an invitation to the chairman of the board to be present at the Presbytery’s 70th anniversary celebrations to be held at Invercargill on the 31st inst. The chairman stated that he would be unable to be present at the function, and it was resolved to appoint Miss Hunt, who agreed to accept and represent the board. Nurse Browne wrote tendering her resignation as she had been appointed to a position in a northern hospital. It was resolved to accept the resignation and Miss Norah W. Allison, of Ohai, was appointed to fill the vacancy. The sub-committee appointed at last meeting reported that satisfactory arrangements had been made regarding the board’s purchasing of furniture for the maternity home at Nightcaps.— Adopted. The surgeon-superi- tendent (Dr. E. G. Fossey) reported as follows: Patients remaining from May—l 6 males, 12 females; admitted during June—2l males, 25 females; total treated—37 males, 37 females; patients discharged during June—l 6 males, 23 females- patients remaining—19 males, 13 females. Operations (major), 22; minor do., 13. X-ray (in patients), 15; out do, 5.
