TOKANUI NOTES
HOCKEY CLUB’S DANCE.
(From Our Correspondent.) Owing to the wintry weather prevailing all the Ipcal sport was postponed on Saturday, Jun 8. A dance held in the hall on Saturday evening in aid of hockey funds was very well patronized. A raffle, “Sunday’s dinner,” was won by Mrs P. Valli. Music was supplied by Mr and Mrs Macintosh and Mrs H. Gregg. Mr C. B. Atkinson was M.C. • The local junior football team met the Morton Mains team on the home ground. The game was played in a good sporting manner and resulted in a win for the visitors by 24 points to 3. Mr J. Swinney controlled the game. The visitors were afterwards entertained at afternoon tea. , Ladies’ Guild. The members of the Ladies’ Guild met at the residence of Mrs Swan on Tuesday, June 11. It was decided to have a bring-and buy sale later on in the year. Mr and Mrs Beange, of Riverton, were the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Robson during the week. Mrs J. Hagen and Mr Cyril Smith spent the week-end with their parents, Mr and Mrs T. Smith.
