GORE CLUB. At a meeting of the committee of the Gore Golf Club it was decided to apply the lift-and-place rule for all future matches, including the qualifying rounds for the championships, until further notice. It was agreed that the ladies be allowed to play L.G.U. matches only without observing the rule. After discussion, it was decided to place a notice in the pavilion requesting members to adhere tc four-ball matches during week-ends. Mr J. A. S. Aitken donated a trophy for the intermediate championship, which w- received with thanks. The secretary reported that arrangements were in hand for a return match with Balclutha at Gore next week-end. and with Otatara at Gore at an early date.
